Me’Chelle Lynn Harden and her baby, Paisley Winkler, were from Metter, but had Reidsville ties.  They were killed in a car accident September 12. It was a Blizzard everywhere in Glennville last Thursday as the Dairy Queen held it’s annual Miracle Treat Day. Former Police Chief Donald Burke passed away August 11. He had most recently been in charge of security at the Tattnall County Annex. A vehicle crash on Hwy. 196 August 7 claimed the lives of three men and one other was airlifted to Savannah. The deceased are Staff Sgt. Joseph L. Cunningham, Julian Edward Wosencroft, and Victor M. Reidsville resident Barbara Polke is facing murder charges in last week’s death of Ashley Sharpe. Polke was the driver of the vehicle and Sharpe had been the passenger, when Polke said a man had approached the vehicle and fired two shots at them, with one of them hitting Sharpe in the head. Reidsville resident Ashley D. Sharpe, 29, was shot in Lyons last Friday afternoon. Sharpe and another woman, Barbara A. Polke, were in a vehicle when the shooting was said to have occurred. The incident is under investigation. A Toombs County 5-year-old, Rodney Lozano, was killed in a vehicle accident. The vehicle had several minor children in it and was being driven by a 14-year-old.
