Headlines leading off this week’s paper include the resignation of County Engineer Pete Blocker. Blocker has served in the position for over 14 years.

Robert Balkcom was promoted to SFC, Commander of GSP Post 11 in Hinesville. Balkcom is a 1987 graduate of Reidsville High School.

Local law enforcement made several drug arrests.

Troy Lane Barnard was arrested on charges which included, Sale or Distribution of Harmful Material to Minors and Distributing Obscene Materials.

Three Tattnall ball teams headed to the state playoffs included the Glennville Little League 10U District Champions, Glennville Girls 10U District Runners-Up, and the Reidsville 12U Midget Boys District Runners-up.

And, the county fire departments have a great fireworks display planned for July 4 at Tattnall County High School.
