Micah Smiley, the local 6-year-old boy going through chemo for lymphoma cancer, was flown by private plane to the University of Georgia on March 20 to visit with the players and gather autographs. A local group put the trip together and several Sheriff’s office deputies, Sherriff Quinton Rush, John Wingate, Ronnie McCall and Lamar Smith, along with Micah’s family, enjoyed the afternoon with the Bulldogs.

Watermelon Creek Vineyard in Tison, GA, received several awards recently for their selection of wines.

And the annual Easter Egg Hunt is March 30 in Reidsville. The event is sponsored by the EE Foundation, a local organization.
