The Reidsville Dairy Queen celebrated 25 years in business and Curtis and Sally Thorsen had a variety of specials during the day, a live band at the Dairy Queen, games for the kids, and a special evening performance by Randy “Elvis” Walker. Donations and money raised from the concert was given to charity.
Lane Oliver of Reidsville was burned in an accident involving gasoline on a fire. He was taken to the burn center in Augusta for treatment.
The Miracles for Micah Fun Day event is scheduled for March 16 at the Tattnall County Veterans Memorial Park to raise money for 6-year-old Micah Smiley who has been diagnosed with Lymphoma.
Major Phillip Fleming, formerly of Reidsville, returned recently from Afghanistan with a number of honors.
Buck Shuman was inducted into the Vidalia Onion Hall of Fame, along with Gerald Dasher of Glennville. Ray Farms was named Grower of the Year at the banquet.
The fourteenth annual Battles at Manassas is scheduled for March 17-18.
