The Election is over! It was a nail-biter as people tuned in to election results coming in on Tuesday night, either on the television or the computer. And although it was a close presidential race throughout the last several months, President Barack Obama retained his seat in the White House. Locally, however, voters in Tattnall and throughout the state of Georgia opted for Romney.  In Tattnall County, voters also selected incumbents to return to office …  County Commission Chairman Frank Murphy and Commissioner Mourice Collins. Statewide, John Barrow will also return to office as District 12 Representative.

Another hot story over the last week was the hunt for Chad Dasher who was wanted for burglary, theft, eluding officers, etc. He was finally apprehended October 31 near Cocoa, FL, by the US Marshals Service. He is now being held in the Tattnall County Jail.

The Veterans’ Memorial Park in Reidsville will be officially dedicated in a ceremony on Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m.  Everyone is invited to come out for this historic celebration.

Several Tattnall Countians took part in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Savannah, Georgia. Their photos and finishing times are also featured on this week’s front page.

Remember Sunday, November 11 is Veterans Day! Thank a veteran or current soldier for their service!
