A sad story leads off this week’s front page … Westside Foods in Cobbtown burned to the ground late Thursday night, September 13. The store was first built as a grocer in the mid 1940s.
First Citizens Bank will soon be known by a new name. First opening in 1943, the bank is now changing it’s name to “S Bank”.
Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park in Reidsville is holding a groundbreaking ceremony September 20th at 10 a.m. for a new group shelter. The new 2,100 sq. ft. building will be able to seat 80 guests, will include a catering kitchen, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a covered patio overlooking the park’s wetlands and lake, a restroom, separate screened grill area and expanded parking.
