This week’s front page highlights the beginning of the high school football seasons. Pinewood Christian Academy won their first game on August 30 as they beat Robert Toombs Christian Academy 14-7. The Tattnall County Warriors lost a tough battle, however, to neighbors, the Claxton Tigers on Friday, August 31. The score ended 47-35 in favor of Claxton.
Also on the front page, a Reidsville man, Jamie Lee Greenwood, was injured in a house fire and is being treated at the Augusta Burn Center.
And just around the corner, Sept. 29, is the Wiregrass Festival, which will be held in Reidsville. This week it was announced that Tattnall County Citizen of the Year, Lisa Cowart Trim, will head up the parade as Grand Marshal.
