Derrell Lynn was recently honored as the Cobbtown Citizen of the Year! The banquet story leads off the front page this week. Also on page one is a brief story of a 26-year-old man who was found dead in Reidsville. The Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office was honored with a statewide award. The county is gearing up for the annual fireworks show to be held July 4 at Tattnall County High School. This Friday marks the deadline for entries into the Tattnall County Heritage Book. This book is a compilation of families, short stories and photos from Tattnall County’s history. Books are only available by ordering in advance and copies are $55 each.
Those candidates who announced their intentions for the July 31 Primary Election this week are: Richard Bland who is running for re-election as School Board Chairman; Bobby J. Brannen who is seeking re-election as County Coroner; Ricky Jarriel who plans to run for First District County Commissioner; Quinton Rush who is seeking re-election as Sheriff; and J. Daniel Shuman who is seeking re-election as the Second District County Commissioner.
