It’s another round of “Flashback Friday” … this time from the early year of 1902!

Each Friday (normally), we’ll post some random old excerpts from The Tattnall Journal in the early years. It’s totally going to be random, so please don’t send special requests for articles. Our early papers are in very poor shape and are extremely brittle. Many of them we don’t allow the public to view anymore as they are the last remaining copies that we know of.

This Friday features clips from 1920. You can click on the images for a larger view. Enjoy!

  1. I look forward to Friday Flashback every week! I love it! It’s like stepping back in time, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

  2. I wonder if they could research an article from 1981. I was promoted to police officer from the position of dispatcher with Reidsville Police. I would later be promoted to Assistant Chief. I would love to get my hands on that front page picture of me in better days physically.

  3. The Tattnall Journal

If you could let us know when that would have been published in 1981 (the month) and the name we are looking for, we may could find it and email you a copy. You can email us at and send us that extra information. Thanks!
