The County Commissioners are proposing an increase in property taxes this year, which would be the first time in nine years. In addition to building up the contingency fund, the increase would also provide for a 10 percent raise for county workers.

Dr. Jim Strickland of Glennville passed away August 2. He had practiced veterinary medicine for nearly 50 years in Glennville, served on the Board of Education for numerous years, Tattnall County Farm Bureau, and several other organizations.

Davy Todd of Claxton was killed in an automobile accident last Thursday on Hwy. 250 and Jeremy Ray of Glennville was severely injured.

Four people have been arrested with charges concerning vehicle theft.
