TCHS Valedictorian Bethany Durrence and Salutatorian Sarina Keffer will lead their class in graduation exercises on Friday, May 23, at 8 p.m. at Warrior Stadium. Over 160 graduates will be receiving a diploma from Tattnall County High School.

Delvis Dutton, of Glennville, was running as a candidate for the Republican seat of U.S. Representative in District 12 in the Primary Election Tuesday, May 20, and although he earned the vote in Tattnall County, he fell short throughout the district. You can look up the most accurate election results through the Secretary of State’s website.

Harvey’s Supermarket in Reidsville will be closed temporarily from May 31 to June 6 as it prepares to change out many of the food brands since it is no longer owned by the Food Lion company. The store will reopen on June 6th and will retain it’s current name.

Friends and family came together in a fundraiser weekend for Brian Strickland, who has suffered many medical problems. The group raised over $9,600 from the events.

The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery will hold a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. The keynote speaker will be Lt. Col. Raymond T. Banks Sr., Commander 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. Veterans, along with their families, and the general public are invited to attend.

Ashley Durrence of Reidsville is announcing his intentions to qualify for the elected position of Chairman of the Tattnall County Commissioners. The race will appear on the November General Election ballot.
