Melvin Collins, 53, of Collins, GA, was killed last Tuesday, April 29, after he was hit by a vehicle while walking down Hwy. 292. The driver, Russell Deal of Richmond Hill was charged in the incident and also charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
A mobile home fire completely destroyed the home of Teresa Owens of Reidsville. The fire broke out last Tuesday, April 29.
A lightning storm hit Reidsville last week, causing a lot of damage.
Michael Joyce, TCHS Senior, signed a letter of intent to play basketball with South Georgia State College in Waycross.
Glennville is gearing up for a sweet weekend with the 38th annual Glennville Sweet Onion Festival coming up on Saturday, May 10.

Advance/Early voting began April 28, 2014, and will end May 16, 2014, at the Tattnall County Elections Office located at 114 W. Brazell St., Reidsville, GA. Votes may be cast Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Advance/Early voting will be held May 12, 2014, to May 16, 2014, at satellite offices at the Cobbtown City Hall, 36519B, Cobbtown, GA, and the Southeastern Technical College at 211 S. Tillman St., Glennville, GA, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday voting will be held on May 10, 2014, at the Tattnall County Elections Office from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Absentee ballot applications are now being accepted. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Friday, May 16, 2014, at 4:00 p.m.
The Federal Primary and Non-Partisan General Election will be conduced May 20, 2014, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All election day polling sites will be open as usual for Collins, Cobbtown, Manassas, Birdford, Tison, Reidsville and Glennville. The runoff date, if needed, will be July 22, 2014.
