Several awards were presented last Thursday evening, March 13 during the Greater Tattnall Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet. The highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, was given to J. Roger Kennedy, Jr., owner of Kennedy Cablevision, Inc., County Line Cablevision, Inc., and Kennedy Network Services, Inc., in Reidsville.
Other award winners included:
Tattnall County Citizens of the Year – Lyndal Tatum and Ronnie McCall
Business Employees of the Year – Jackie Hicks Beckum of Kennedy Cablevision and Carol Chandler of Ace Hardware in Reidsville
Government Employee of the Year – Kelly Howell of the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department
Service Business of the Year – Rader Kennedy of Guarantee Signs of Reidsville
Business Person of the Year – Kicklighter Realty’s Margaret Joseph, Darla Kicklighter and Tiffany Kicklighter
Business of the Year – Watermelon Creek Vineyard, Charles and Deborah Tillman
Community Involvement Award – Glennville Faith Riders
Special Service/Leadership Awards – Faye F. Hussey, County Manager; Johnny King and Jackie Trim, Sports Broadcasters with WRBX Radio in Reidsville; and Shawn Tootle, Tattnall County Shriner and 2013 Shriner of the Year
Junior Board Member of the Year – Destini Alexis Bush
This past week, Reidsville mourned the death of former postmaster Rabun Phillips.
The annual Battles at Manassas were held over the weekend and over 350 soldiers participated in the reenactment.
And the VFW Post 7764 is finalizing the sponsor plaques for flags that will be placed on the Tattnall County Courthouse square.
