The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park September 30 to introduce the newly constructed Group Shelter. The shelter is a beautiful addition to the park in Reidsville and also features a back deck, separate screened building and new restroom facilities.

The 2013 Wiregrass Festival was a huge success and drew a large crowd for the day-long activities.

Collins Autumn Fest was next up on the calendar, being held October 5.

Clay Tatum was announced as the new Warden at Rogers State Prison.

Christopher Lee Barwick was a suspect in an assult on Michelle Morris of Metter. The incident occurred on the Ohoopee River and Toombs and Tattnall Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the call.
